I was going through my old boxes of "stuff" from my Dad and came across a Uncle Henry 144UH. The blade has Uncle Henry written across the shank of the blade with U.S.A. 144. Serial number 3464. The knife is brand new still in the box. Does anyone know what the retail value of this knife would be now? I own a small retail outdoor sporting goods store and will be selling it along with other knives I have. I'm more of a folding blade knife guy and still have my LB7 and Imperial Frontier 4712. Now I am into tactical folding fighters.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Love this site! Larry

Welcome to our forum, Larry. You have a great, rather rare knife. To help you sell it, here are a few facts:

First produced in 1979, last made in 1982. Very short production run. Sold for $40 to $50 new. So rare that I just visited ebay and could not find one for sale, or having been sold in the recent past. I paid $100 for a New in box one not long ago. But I wanted it bad, and that is the key to getting a good price on anything, as you know being in retail-- how bad someone wants what you have.

Stick around, let's see what the other members have to say.

A good used one with original used sheath will hold it's original MSRP of about fifty dollars right now. They are like/but different than the 14OT Old Timer, with a slightly different blade grind. I suspect that eighty to a hundred for a mint NIB example is not far off at all. A really fevered buyer might pay more.

I think if you want to realize the value of your knife, you should put it on ebay instead of your store. I have a feeling you would be pleasently surprised by the amount it will bring.

Thanks Gentlemen! I really appreciate the information. I'm in the process of opening a new Ebay account for the store. I might sell both ways. I'll keep you informed of what it sells for. I'm looking forward to coming in here more often. Thanks again! Larry
