I had a question I was hoping some one could answer for me. I have been collecting Uncle Henry knives for a while and am getting pretty close to having all the Uncle Henry Signiture series knives. I have a list with most of the knives Schrade made in the Uncle Henry line but I don't know if it is all of them. So I was wondering if any one would have (or know where I could get) a FULL PRODUCTION LIST of all the knives made under the Uncle Henry name. Thanks for you time and I hope some one can help me out.

Thanks. This is a start but I have some that aren't on here so I'm wondering how many more there are?????

Jaredray,
There were many UH's made specificly for certain hardware chains in the midwest that were given their own set of numbers. Like 855, 233, 881, 895, 863. I've heard the steel and handle material was also a little different.
Show us yours. Ive shown you mine!

You will find that Schrade made many issues of Uncle Henrys in various patterns, special and limited editions that have not been catalogued the list on this thread is that of the main line and what are accepted as the usual a production styles. This habit Schrade had of making a few oddbals for various reasons is one of the things that makes the collecting of there past products interesting. While viewing the Schrade collection, ( which is being put up for auction) a week or so ago . I saw one of the knives on the wall was an old timer I did not recognize I was with Mr Gardner the president of the now defunct Schrade company. I asked him what the knife was he said it was a prototype Old Timer Boot knife which the company had considered making but had decided against marketing since it could only be construed as a weapon and the company owners policy was that Schrade made tools not weapons. So it was never produced. ( By the way they had orders for a half of a million of them before the prototype was made, the orders were cancelled and the knives never made ) . Unfortunately this integrity is part of what caused the companies downfall. However I cite this as an extreme example of what I mean by there being a lot of unusual knives out there. There is a display Uncle Henry in the collection of a stockman pattern that is around 15 to 18 inchs closed ( see the thread I posted last week on the collection ). A good rule of thumb is that there is always more than one proto type. So somewhere out there may be lurking an old timer boot knife. Or who knows perhapes a version in staglon under a UH marking, and who knows what else. It would be great for someone to compile a real listing of all of these including the odd balls an limited editions however i do not think it would ever be possible to have it 100 percent complete. I do not think even Schrade would have records of them all. LT

And a fine bump up it is, Kapt!.

Is anyone writing all of this stuff down? Seriously, there has been a wealth of info posted in this forum.

I state for not the first time: The Schrade forum here is filled with the most interesting, knowledable, friendly people in all of BFC.

Phil
