Just got one of these new in the box as part of a four knife purchase. Never saw one before and I really like it! Wood handles with brass bolsters and butt. I was wondering why I have never heard much about this model, it seems like a good candidate for EDC. Anyone have any comments on this one?

Thanks,
John

(If you are wondering what the other three knives are, they were a Alox Vic Cadet, a Copper Alox Vic Cadet, ans a Case Sodbuster - all four for $50.)

My wife gave me a LB5 from LL Bean very early in our relationship, shortly after we moved to NH. It would have been in the 1st couple of years the LB5's were made. I carried that knife everywhere for over 4 years and one day it turned up missing. I probably left it in the woods or in a bucket of something or other that got tossed. I tore the house apart looking. For the next few months I complained about missing it. She then got me a SP3 which while not nearly the same knife was about the same size and 1/2 the weight. It fit in my dress pants pocket easier and she knew the brite red handle would be hard for me to lose.
She was right I still have that one. (I have added a few LB5's to the family since then too!)

The LB5 is the middle sized wooden handled folding hunter style knife Schrade made in the Uncle Henry line. It was made from 1982 to 2001. Stainless steel blade. Bolsters were in nickle/silver and brass.
Great knife. I carry one often.
