Looks very good!
Why can't most brands also offer a "normal" blade for their folders, without the tacticool mall ninja all black look?

Nice, it looks stonewashed!

HI JeremiahWeaver09 -

I was thinking the same thing as samhain.

It looks good! I would have thought it was bigger - the picture next to the leek gave me a good idea of the scale.

Thanks for posting the pics - nice knives.

best regards -

That looks very, very nice. I may have to do that to my American Lawman! Did you remove the blade from the handle? I don't think you can open the handles on the Lawman series so was it a PITA to get the blade back in with washers intact? Thanks.

I did it to my recon 1 ,looks so much better. also polished all the screws & pocket clip.the teflon finish is easy to remove, & the blades are prefinished nicely with no bad grind marks like some other knives i tried to strip. just a buffing wheel & compound & a bit of elbow grease & you have a whole new blade.

i did not remove the blade, i just scratched the black coating off with the edge of a bottle opener on a swiss army knife, it took like 10 minutes and scraped off pretty easy.

that recon 1 looks excellent with the polished blade.

I wish all companies would offer their blades with plain blade option myself too!

WOW. Makes me salivate..

That is really sweet, but SSSHHHHH!! Lynn Thompson will hear us and offer satin finish and raise prices on our favorite "black only" models. Then we'll have to buy a bunch of Cold Steel knives.

He'll probably read this thread and think "OHH S**T, I better get this to my boys in R&D!" :D

it is cheaper for companies to coat aus-8 etc. Not for corrosion but to save on finishing and polishing.
love my full size lawman, can't understand the finger notches on the mini lawman.

Seeing this Recon 1 makes me want to perform something similar to my AK 47. The coating is so flakey to begin with that i'd imagine it comes off quite easily with power tools.
