I recently built these for a fellow formite that wanted to add handles himself. He seems quite happy with them, and I can hardly wait to see them completed. I'm told there are several other projects on the go right now, so could be a year or two. He works like me! Both are 380 layers of 1084/L-6, combination pattern of raindrop and ladder, differentially heat treated.

Very nice! So, I'll bet you sent these insured and with a tracking number. Any luck with that blade that went missing?

Those are fantastic!!!! The pattern is very alluring....and the blade shapes are great :D

Was it hard letting them go without handles? I think it would be hard for me, especially given how great they look.

Thanks gents. The recurve was built fairly close to customer specs, so I can't take credit for that. And yes Keith, these one's were sent UPS w/tracing numbers, and no problems at all. The other blade that went missing is still in the "Great Beyond," or a U.S. Customs contraband melting furnace! It is hard to send out knives like this unfinished, but I have faith their new owner will do them justice.
