Finally invested in a good camera and brought it along with me yesterday into the forest.

I was accompanied by 3 great knives; the Stukuri made by Stuart Branson, a chute knife made by Marcus Lin and a handy little knife made by Michael Rader.

Not much to talk about here, just wanted to share some pictures:)

Those look great. I have recently become especially fond of Chute knives though and that is a nice one. Although the Stukuri is very nice as well.

Admit it Lorien, you only clear trails so you can justify your knife purchases to the wife. :D

Which is your favored chopper -- the Stukuri or the damascus Wheeler?

Depends on what I'm cutting through; the knife Nick made for me is light and awesome for springy spindly stuff but the edge is so fine that using it for lumber makes me nervous. The Stukuri has a lot of weight up front and is harder to control for the light stuff, but has more meat behind the edge bevel, which is convexed, and is a beaver when it comes to lumber.

Chris, Loveless' chute design is super rad and versatile for the outdoorsman. Lin's version is really really nice.

Lucky you, Lorien! Playin' with knives and callin' it work. Love the Stukuri...super cute!

Wow, those colours really pop. Which camera did you get?

it's an Olympus E-PM1. Awesome little camera and I think they're about to release the replacement for it or something, because I got it direct for 40% off, ($300)

Ben, I'm a lucky guy because everything that I call work is kinda like playing!

I worried for a second that Lorien would say mine sucks and Stuarts kicks its ass all the way to China town... ;)

Personally, if I was doing what Lorien is doing, and wanted to do a ton of work, while looking bad ass at the same time.... I would have a hard time finding a more fitting tool to work with than Stuart's beast!:) That sucker looks like a trail blazing machine!!!

Lorien, is that blood on Stuart's blade in the 8th photo?

yup, it's mine. It's not unusual for me to graze my knuckles on stuff- everything that grows around here seems to have evolved in such a way as to remove skin.
I just can't bring myself to wear gloves, especially when using a knife with such a well designed and fitted handle.
