Hey guys, so last year in Wisconsin a concealed weapon law was passed. Thus forcing anyone who carries a dangerous weapon, gun, knife, etc, concealed to get a license for CC. However you have to be 21 to get the license and being 17, I am confused on my rights for knife carry. Am I limited to carrying unconcealed? And, Is having my knife clipped to my pocket considered unconcealed? I realize that this will be a rare occurrence when these laws matter. In other words, I don't plan on having a lot of contact with police, but if I ever am and my knife becomes an issue I want to be well educated on the laws and my legal rights. Thanks

You'll want to give statute 941.23 a good read.
The important bit:
The elements for a violation of s. 941.23 are: 1) a dangerous weapon is on the defendant's person or within reach; 2) the defendant is aware of the weapon's presence; and 3) the weapon is hidden. State v. Keith, 175 Wis. 2d 75, 498 N.W.2d 865 (Ct. App. 1993).

If for some reason you are stopped because someone saw the pocket clip, the you can probably use that as an argument that the knife is not hidden/concealed. Good luck.
If you are stopped for other reasons, allow them to identify the knife without you removing it from the pocket, keep your hands visible, and (again) good luck.

Also, 941.24 is just as annoying:
Whoever manufactures, sells or offers to sell, transports, purchases, possesses or goes armed with any knife having a blade which opens by pressing a button, spring or other device in the handle or by gravity or by a thrust or movement is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
If you use the basic rules of English to break this sentence down:
Whoever [...] possesses or goes armed with any knife having a blade which opens by [...] movement is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
I want to slap whomever wrote this sentence.

Whoever [...] possesses or goes armed with any knife having a blade which opens by [...] movement is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.

So folding knives are illegal according to this ^

No, it's just a badly worded sentence to ban autos, balisongs, and even assists.
