I was recently diagnosed with macular degeneration, and had to go from never wearing sunglasses my entire life to needing a pair daily. I thought I'd do a review of the Under Armour Igniter as I purchased them 3 months ago, and found them to be near perfect for me so far.
Selecting a set of sunglasses, my ideal price point was around 50 dollars. UA has polarized lenses at that price point, and they were on sale. UA also has a large niche in the outdoor market so that also drew me to them.
The "Multiflection" lenses were supposed to be resistant to scratching, ......and it actually works quite well. I know I've dropped them a few times, and different objects have brushed against the lenses without resulting in any scratching at all. I didn't take sandpaper to them, but with normal use the lenses are as perfect as they were 3 months ago.
Now the "ArmorSight" quality of sight was immediately apparent to me once I tried them on the first time. I was fearful of loosing color and didn't want a dark view of everything. Instead, this lens provides fantastic color, and only slightly tints brightness to a level that's very comfortable but you don't feel it distorts everything. Coverage across your visual field is enough to cover all your peripheral vision. After putting them on for a minute I forget they are there because of the quality and clarity you get.
Now for the only negative, comfort level. The glasses are lightweight, and designed well to wrap around your face, BUT the nose guard is a rubber material and it begins to build sweat quickly on the bridge of the nose when hot outside. It does hold in place well and this is a feature I know many sunglasses have. The glasses however feel great to wear.
Overall, I give these shades a solid 4.9 out of 5! If you are not wanting to spend double the cash on Oakleys, these are definitely a great option. I think you get a great value of function and style to be pleased.
