Whatever you do, do not take it to school with you or to any school-sponsored activities such as athletic competition or social events (dances, etc.).I am 13 and Edc a spyderco delica or a rat izula. Is it illegal for me to do so?
ok, but you still didnt answer my original question. is it illegal?

If the knife is legal under state law, you are on solid ground unless, of course, you take it into prohibited areas such as airports, schools, government buildings, etc. The knives that you mentioned are folders, if I am not mistaken. Do what I do and just put it in your pocket (all the way in, without the clip showing; better yet, remove the clip entirely) and step out onto the street, going about your business as usual. Even if the knife is of questionable legality, you are highly unlikely to have any contact with LEOs if you dress decently, practice good grooming/manners and generally maintain a low profile. Make sure that your knife is completely concealed! Check yourself in a full-length mirror if necessary. If you don't have one at home, all of the clothing stores at the mall have them; trust me! I would make it a point not to tell too many people that you carry. The less people know about you, especially LEOs, teachers and classmates, the better off you are.ok, but you still didnt answer my original question. is it illegal?
Texas law also does not prohibit knife use by minors. The only restriction is "illegal" knives, which are more or less listed before that. Texas law also does not prohibit knives in schools; again, the prohibition is the previously listed "illegal knives".It is a common perception that minors cannot possess otherwise legal knives. While this is true in a few jurisdictions, it's actually very rare. Several states have laws on sale to minors, but it seems most do not. I believe this perception arises from store policies, which often will not sell to minors, but this is for civil liability reasons more often than not, rather than law.
I tend to agree. You'd probably be better off with a Trapper pattern knife than a large "Tacticool" folder.while you're probably in the clear legally it would probably be a good idea to carry a more "friendly looking" knife(anything remotely "tacticool" tends to most many people on edge). i know, you should be able to carry what you like so long as it's legal, but reality and actuality are two different things.
