What knives do you like that are made by Benchmade but branded otherwise (H&K and Harley spring to mind)? Are there any knives that you feel are overlooked just because they don't carry the major brand recognition?
I am personally interested in axis lock and s30v if possible.

I have the new HK 14715 and it is pretty sweet; Axis lock, G-10 with standoffs and D2 steel been trying to beat it up but the edge is holding strong.
Another knife I always admired was the Harley Davidson Hardtail an mini Hardtail. Kind of like a Buck 110 with a pocket clip and Axis lock

The HK branded and Snody designed 14205 and 14210, long discontinued, still are some of the best BKC ever made. Yep, these were made in 154cm, still an excellent blade steel.

Thanks, that narrows it down a bit.

Any others out there?

I would add some of the Bone Collector line was good. The only knife I own from it is the large Lockback. The name escapes me right now.

My HK 14250S from 2005 is a great folder with a tanto 154CM blade. Recently, I got the HK 14715 with a D2 blade for $93 brand new. Can't beat the value! Also, my big Harley Davidson 13100S Hardtail with D2!

Love the Hardtail!! That is one pattern that always appealed to me but I just never bought it because I don't ride Harleys. Duh.

Anyone who has a 14715 find any up/down blade play? Mine has a minor amount of movement, enough that you can hear and feel it move.
Debating on sending it back to the Mother Ship for a tune up. Still a great knife.

14715 is a badass knife and a great deal. I just gifted one to a friend and if I didn't already have a backup knife for the backup knife of all my backup knives, I'd scoop one for myself

Just picked up the HK 14715. No up/down play, but a little side to side. Tried taking out the side play, but no go. There is a very fine line between too tight to pivot and a little blade wiggle. Probably the smallest go/no-go adjustment I've ever seen on a pivot screw.

My HK 14715 has a slight up & down blade play but quite tolerable.

Yea, I cant really decide if it really matters. Maybe in time the Axis with wear in and the lock bar with move a bit more forward and take out the slack.

Nano Oil will take care of that. I used to put up with ever so slight side-side play until I tried Nano Oil. Now I can tighten the pivot to eliminate all side-side play and still flick the knife open with just the Axis lock.

Yes, it will.

Lone Wolf are pretty nice and overlooked for not carrying the BM name... come to think of it, I'm not even sure if they are still around due to that.

HK Ascender

The most underrated knife I've ever owned. Takes and holds a wicked edge, good blade size, great ergo's, barrel spacers standard, and a sound solid Liner lock that has held up for years now. It's my dedicated around the house user and cardboard box cutter.

I'm also very impressed with how well the finish is holding up. From the looks of it you'd never guess how many years of cutting cardboard this knife has seen.

Too bad it never really took off and was discontinued. For the price I've never owned better.
