I'm sure we've all seen examples of these. A knife that, on its own, is an ok knife but one that doesn't really shine until it's had some modding/tinkering/refining done to it. Sure, there is the Gripilian and a couple others that come to mind pretty quickly but then there are some you wouldn't really think of. These are the knives I'm talking about.
For instance- I just picked up a 'pimped' Boker Kwaiken done by Alex Dietz. LSCF, sterilized and acid stonewashed blade, bronzed liners and clip, flipper mod. Now, originally, the Kwaiken is a decent and relatively inexpensive knife. IKBS and a sweet looking design. Hefty liner lock. But once it's been attacked by someone that knows what they're doing, boy does it become another critter entirely!
So what knives do you have or know of that fall into this group? And please, pics if you have them.
