Titanium versions I just checked out a local dive shop looked pretty cool, handles are fully removable, so I was thinking of getting one, drilling a few holes, and wrapping with paracord, opinions on these knive?

Info on this knife

Apparently the model I want is called the Blue Tang Knife Titanium.

Of course, I see on the internet this knife goes for around $60, at the dive shop it was $90, talk about markup....

$60 knife any good for wrapping in paracord, especially for titanium?

How hard is titanium, couldn't get a RC rating...

Recontech,
I don't know about the Ti version, I nearly bought one of their steel ones a couple years ago, and the only reason I didn't was because I wound up with a Ti knife from a different company, this was before the UK's were out in Titanium. I think they're a pretty good knife and the paracord idea should work. My Ti knife cost about the same amount and has held up pretty well over the last couple years. I think for the money it's a great knife.

Any other knives to look for out there that I can do this with? Just want a nice blade that I can wrap (remove the handle of course)...for not too much...

I have no idea.
You might want to ask in the knifemakers forum if there is a big difference in titanium alloys. Or if heat treating Ti makes a difference, etc.

Drawing off of my reading on steel vs ti tubing... ti stretches and "springs" back into shape, well beyond the point at which a steel tube of the same size is permanately disfigured. The TI tubes in an aircraft can nearly flap like a bird!

Hardness wise... You can bend a Ti rim on a car, but i cant get you a rockwell rating, dont know where to find one?

I bought a Becker 7 and took the handle off and paracorded it...the handle unbolts and for under $50. it's a heck of a knife.

I do not think Ti is good for blades unless it is strictly for salt water conditions...then I still would not use it.
