Undeserved Negative Feedback?

I was given a negative feedback for a deal that was never finalized. I made an offer on a knife paypal included, privately. The seller accepted adding the paypal fees. At that point I was disinterested due to the added fees but didn't contact him back. Rude? I'll agree to that. Bad etiquette. Deserving of a negative? Maybe not as a deal was technically never finalized.

So, just to be clear, you offered to take the knife privately, not publiclly in a thread.

The Seller countered with a different price, that you didn't agree to. At no time did you publicly say you'd take the knife, so it was still listed.

He then dinged your feedback?
 
That is correct. His counter was that I covered the paypal fees. I didn't want to do that. Everything was done privately...until the feedback anyway.
 
B.S. here is the PM exchange. ...His initial low ball offer which I accepted..and my reply..

You got a deal. PP $361 ( that incl pp fee) to cornsales@cablespeed.com and if you do it soon Ill pack it up and have it USPS priority in the mail to you in the morning. W tracking no. emailed to you via click and ship

I then PMed him twice regarding his payment...he never responded and logged off everytime I PMed him. Now he claims he had a problem with paying the PP fee. Which he never communicated to me. I dinged him..he stiffed on payment..and never communicated that he was no longer interested in the deal w/ PP fees...I personally think it was buyer remorse but I could care less now..I dinged him because he did not communicate and did not pay me.. me after a low ball offer.What is undeserved about that? His initial PM to me never mentioned not paying fees if this was a problem would not it just have been easier to PM me back and query about the fees...I get nothing...but a blow off...am I a mind reader?

Ren, IMO you were wrong to give negitive feedback on a deal not done openly in the sales forum.

And also for putting your GBU link into a sales thread in which he posted(yesterday).

Yes, he seems to be in the wrong... but you shouldn't leave bad itrader(on a non deal) or post your GBU link into a sales thread.

Your GBU thread should have been enough on its own.
No disrespect intended, JMHO.
 
WOW, I didnt know you could leave a negative feedback without actually completing the transaction. Is this the Bladeforums standard? If a mod does it than Id assume yes. I too have had people lead me to believe they were gonna complete a deal than drop of the face of the earth when it came time to finalize. Personally, Id just blow em off after the first sign of there douchery, but if the Bladeforums community wants to know of such instances than I would like to share it with them, just doesnt seem all that logical therefore I ask.
 
If the deal doesn't go through NO feedback should be left of any kind. Yeah, it's annoying when it happens but unless he took your money or knife and did not ship as promised negative feedback should not be left. iTrader shouldn't even come into the picture.
 
I think customizerwannabe's iTrader record should have that negative removed, and the interference in the Exchange thread knocked out also. We are setting a terrible example here -- if iTrader is for every argument btwn BF members, it will end up looking like the chiclet system, a joke, and will be useless.
 
well I guess you live and learn...Im ok with it...sorry for being an ass...I could blame it on lack of medication but I think I am this way all of the time....( hanging head...)
 
I will admit and have admitted I was wrong. It was a crappy thing to do and I really don't have an excuse. I've apologized to Ren and would like to just move on.
 
Ok, so everyone is fine with the thread being closed down, and the feedback removed?
 
My ex-boss gave me some bigtime negative Feedback on a performance Eval after his little kid (then 19) was a bad boy.

It did not take place here, took place a very long time ago, and I did not deserve it.

Hey Spark, can I have the negative FB removed???:D:p:D
