Uneven anvil pin on Paramilitary 2: Still legit?

I think it's what you'd call the anvil pin anyways. I bought this knife fulfilled by Amazon, sold by "George Sports." So, while it seems to check out overall, I'm just a little paranoid about getting a fake.

First, the pic of mine, with the off kilter pin:

Another pic to make it clear what I'm talking about:

Random pic I found where it looks pretty much dead straight:

Bonus pic showing the liner (milling look legit?):

Mine is the same, however, pictures of the rest of the knife will tell a great deal more on whether it is a fake or not.

Real!

Judging by the tell tale signs of a fake yours appears to be an authentic PM2.

How much more could this have possible saved you? Was it worth not going through a major Spyderco dealer simply for some peace of mind?

OP, looks legit, are you able to return it?

The guy bought from an Amazon store, who hasn't? I check there almost always first, it's never on my mind to google authorized dealers, what is your point in saying this? I guess I was an ass for telling my bro in law to look on Amazon for a Knock Out that he just ordered...
Furthermore, you didn't even contribute to the thread, unless you count your snarky comment.

To be frank, I'm not totally understanding the two comments previous to crom's.

Are you two saying you think it's a fake? Is that pin not supposed to be slightly off kilter? Any info appreciated.

@crom: I could return it, yes. But I won't unless it's determined to be a fake.

This can't be the first post you have seen by scurvy ;)

Looks legit to me as well. Occasionally fakes can get mixed in to places like Amazon when someone returns a fake. I caught one at Cabelas this summer. That said, it is rare. It certainly passes on all the tell tail signs of a fake. About the pin? I don't know. Mine looks straight but yours kind of does as well. If the lock up is good, the action is smooth, and the centering is good I would say you are fine. If a problem does arise in the future you can always send it in to Spyderco. If it is bugging you though, just send it back.

How is telling someone to go through an authorized dealer not contributing?

I've never seen a fake Knock Out before. Fake PM2s appears to be all the rage these days. So if you are at all concerned with getting a real one, why wouldn't you just use an authorized dealer.

Buying from an 'amazon authorized seller' isn't much better than buying from EBay. I bought plenty of knives off Amazon, but never a knife where fakes were rampant.

Scurvy I'm not going to argue with you but what if the OP has no prior knowledge of fake PM2's? To assume he's a knife nut and make an unhelpful observation based on YOUR knowledge is hardly making a positive contribution. I follow this crap and I'm not up on all the fake pieces out there. I'd think that sort of thing is pretty rare on Amazon anyhow. OP, you got a bum example I don't see any signs it is fake.

Thanks, I appreciate your help. Overall the quality seems very good, and the lockup definitely feels rock-solid.

I'm gonna try one more pic, to see if it makes it more obvious that it's just slightly not straight. From the perspective of this picture, the right side of the tube is definitely higher up than the left.

It's definitely easier to tell looking at it in person. I've given this thing a pretty in-depth examination, and this is the only thing that strikes me as a bit odd about it.

Man, dude, I can't really see it. If everything else is fine with it, IE, lockup and smoothness, I would say you are good to go. I have never seen a fake that has smooth G10 around the lock disengagement or angled jimping, which yours does have. Unless the fakers managed to do this on your example and someone returned it to the specific Amazon store you used, I would say that is legit. The chances of you getting the best fake I have ever seen from Amazon are near zero.

There are plenty of videos on the tube showing the difference between genuine PM2s and knock offs. Take a look and I think you will know one way or the other. If it is genuine, send it back to spyderco if you are concerned. Their customer service is good and I don't think they care where you bought it.

You should have purchased it from a reputable dealer (BladeHQ has both black G10 models in stock right now) and then you wouldn't even need to be up in here asking if your knife is legit.

PM2 is real (IMO), Amazon is fine (IMO)and scurvy is a snark (admittedly). :-)

Give the new guy a break, he's just asking for some help and doesn't deserve the typical condescending BS from the regular know it alls with more words than years and collection.

Yes, that point has been made. It looks very legit to me. The real question is what to do about the crooked stop pin.
