uneven bevel

I just received a knife that is the sharpest out of the box knife I've owned. Problem is, it has an uneven bevel that is driving me nuts. Should I resharpen right away, or should I use the wonderfully sharp edge until it dulls a bit. THer is nothing wrong with the way it performs, but the uneveness is bothering me.

Personally I'd use the knife and when it dulls, slowly correct it over time. Doing it all in one whack could potentially remove a lot of steel and usable life from the tool. I have a couple of regular users that still have uneven bevels, I never bothered to correct them.

I agree. Use the knife and correct the bevel in subsequent sharpening. No sense in removing more metal than necessary. Plus, there are more important things in life to sorry about. ;)

I like worrying about trivial things. It takes my mind off of lifes real problems. I am leaning towards leaving it alone for now.
