Uneven bevels?

I am trying to reprofile a few used SAKs I picked up on the Sharpmaker Diamond Rods and my bevels always end up with one side wider than the other. What could be causing this? Is the primary grind just uneven?

Sharpmaker may not have identical angles on each side. I measured mine using a clinometer app on my phone. The 15 degree slots were pretty much dead on but the 20 degree slots were more like 20.5 and 22.

Lots of reasons: Uneven grind on the knife, unequal pressure against the rods, bad technique, Sharpmaker angles not equal, etc. If you're seeing it on every knife you sharpen... probably not the knife.

I measured the angles and they are correct on both sides of the SM, so I think it was my technique that was causing the uneven bevels. This afternoon I went to reprofile 2 of my knives and focused on having the blades perfectly perpendicular to the bench and my bevels are almost perfectly even. Thanks for the help.
