Uneven grind on my BBB 15v PM2!

Have mercy! I think I’m being a beach! I stropped it for a few minutes and whisk! shred! crispy! Sticky!
Action and centering perfect 🤩
And She-it!! It’s a BBB Sprint run 15v and I’m bein’ a beach! Your thoughts are still entirely welcomed! 👍😇🔪

You’ve got a couple of options, send it in before using it to see if it can be straightened out or use it as is and start evening up the bevels when it needs sharpening. No need to remove unnecessary steel so it will look good. If it’s functional as is, use it.
I understand the disappointment with uneven grinds, it doesn’t bother me to use a knife like that. I’ve got a couple that are like that and I’ll fix them in due time.

Hi Ajack!
Thank you for your reply! I love it, odd grind and all. Almost like having a dear friend with a few challenges! Lol 😂 I’ll even it out and not complain because it’s so frigging sharp with only a stropping since receipt. Anyway, I’ve already swapped to tip up with the clip and and happy camping!

Complaints like this make me want to give up on people all together. If that's what you call uneven grinds, stop buying production knives and stick to sole authorship customs.

Hi! Sorry my simple observation disappointed you! (Look at the pics again) I have a machine shop background of 50+ years. I wasn’t low rating the knife for function, simply quality control on the finish grind. I made it clear I’m happy with the knife and keeping it gladly. So please don’t be offended, we’re not far off from being good neighbors! 😉😬👍

Definitely uneven, but if it cuts well hopefully it won't bother you. I wouldn't remove extra steel just to even it up so long as it cuts fine.

Believe it or not the BBB pm2s have some of the best quality control ive seen on a pm2. I assume because of shawn being one of "us".
Hi Bret!
I paid a premium to own this knife. I used to mfg commercial airline products at a large manufacturer. I was responsible for quality as well as total airworthiness. Yes, I’m a little critical about “just make it like the drawing” 😁😉👍
BTW: take a look at the machining chatter on top the liner next to jimping! Sorry, there I go again! I still am very happy to own this knife. In fact, its cousin, a Shawn Special Shaman in 15v arrives tomorrow!

Im sorry if i upset you. I did not make this knife. Was just giving my opinion based on the 15 pm2s ive have owned. Although i do understand how you feel.
Hi Brett,
Gosh, you didn’t upset me. I’m the one wearing my knickers too tight! Lol! I appreciate your opinion and glad you offered it!
PS How do you like the fob I tied? I like the color and I’m getting better with my knots!

I feel your disappointment. I just received a Pacific Salt SE that looks like the tip was finished on the concrete outside my front door. Feeling like this knife was bought messed with and returned. Sometimes it’s just the luck of the draw.

Now it’s up to me to fix the crappy edge I received and no longer purchase from online shops.

These are the grind lines I expect from Spyderco these days.
All of my Spydercos, I bought in the last several years, look like this. If there is no off centering or blade play, I am happy.

I still like the design, so I keep buying them...

I’m carrying it exclusively lately and I’m a big fan of the 15v steel. It’s just so “toothy” 👍⚔️🐿️
