Uneven grind on Stretch, am I being nit picky?

Let me preface this by saying I am an unabashed Spyderco fan boy. I own far more Spydies than any other brand. That being said, I just bought a new FRN Stretch in ZDP-89 and was really disappointed when I found a pretty uneven grind on the blade. It's the first time I've ever seen anything but perfection on a Spyderco and I was pretty shocked.

Is this too nit picky to be worried about? I know I don't have the sharpening skill to fix it by myself. The larger/wider grind in the middle doesn't bother me nearly as much as the tiny grind near the choil.

i would just use it if the edge is sharp. (its only cosmetic :D). if you want some help learning how to sharpen, i would be glad to help you out.

In my experience, quite a few Spydercos that do not have a Spanish notch are ground like that near the tang.

I just got a stretch zdp-189 also . The grind is a little uneven but not as bad as yours .I do get a smaller bevel toward the tip , but it's razor sharp . Not a big thing to me as I will straighten it out as it needs sharpening

I will say the ZDP blade was scary sharp out of the box as others have said. I do pretty well on my sharpmaker, but I imagine I may have to invest in some diamond rods to make inroads on this one.

I'd leave it how it is. If it cuts fine its ok. It's cosmetic and a production knife. By all means feel free to fix it, but its fine if left alone also.

eh, kind of nit picky, but then again that obtuse grind near the tang might be a pain to sharpen out.

my m4 military's grind gets pretty bad near the tip, i'd say it gets more obtuse by more than 5 degrees. I've just been kind of dealing with it (plus I don't have to sharpen it often :D ) but I really need to sharpen it out one of these days, and I don't really trust my hand at not making it ugly as sin (and taking a lOOOONG time with my sharpeners)...

thinking about sending it out to one of the guys on BF that do sharpening, just to take it down to about 25 degrees all the way down, so I can keep it sharp on my sharpmaker easy enough.
