Apparently, the GSO 5.1 makes you more stealthy and in tune with nature. I was walking
through the woods to the new secret location for the shelter and BOOP! A deer. Snuck right
up on her. And she was close! Probably about 15 meters away just munching on leaves. She
didn't even look up until I made noise getting my phone out to take pictures. She didn't
seem to care that I was there. I slowly inched closer to about 10 meters and BOOP! Noticed
the second deer!!! They both hung around for maybe 30 minutes while I continued working
on shelter/wood working techniques.

The wonders of a 5.1. Who knew???

Those blacktail are cute little guys :) Looks like they're shedding their winter coat.

Momma and yearling get their munching on... I'd look for mushrooms or something they were after! Closest I was ever to a whitetail was last fall.... 6 yards for 30 minutes. Little doe wouldn't leave my turkey decoy alone. She'd run off and I'd deer grunt at her; and she'd run back up n look at my decoy like what are you?? She never saw me! It was first day of bow deer season and I was sitting there with a 3.5" 12 gauge for turkeys and .223 for coyotes if one tried to steal my turkey decoy again. Great pics!

Lol... yeah my Dad gave me his old bow and I got it all fixed up. So now I can learn to bow hunt! I had a huge deer 170+ 10 pt at 168 yards... but I'm not Rambo enough to make that shot with a bow! lol He'll mess up and I'll get him since no one got him last year. Maybe he'll be even bigger this year?! :)

After I got done thumping on knives last weekend I did a little turkey hunting. I walked around the point of this old logging road and made a call to see if I could get an answer. Nothing, so I went to walk in a little further. There was a bit of snow drift there up ahead and when I got to it, fresh coyote tracks. I mean, they had just been made. You could see where it dove off the road and then I hear it taking off through the brush, I was right on top of it. I'm convinced now that it was coming in to my call. If I had stayed put a minute longer it would have been in front of me, and me with a 12 gauge in my hands. I've called a lot of coyotes with distress calls, but never a turkey call. Do you have them come into a turkey set very often?

as soon as I grabbed mine out of the box and walked across the room, you could hear a tink tink tink tink of my balls of steel!!! Or you feel like you have them for sure. lol.
