Hi all. I’m so excited that I had to come share this.

Today at work, a customer/member named Ed, pulled me aside to give me a Christmas present. First of all, I was quite surprised that this person was doing this. Secondly, he started the conversation with, “didn’t you tell me that you lost a Buck knife last year?” I said that I had(291 rush). And it never turned up. He said “I thought so. I’ve had this for a little over ten years and I want you to have it.” And handed me a brown paper sack.

Inside was a brand new mini buck 425!!!! In the clam shell still!!From 2005 with the Idaho stamp!! I told him I couldn’t accept such a nice gift. But he insisted I do. As well as reassure me that he had two more at home identical. Had bought them way back in 2005, and was going to gift them to his two grandchildren this year.

I feel so honored to carry and use this knife. I know Ed isn’t reading this, and as I already told him many times, but I want to say it here. Thank you for the wonderfully thoughtful gift that will be in my collection forever. As a user of course. There was no way I could not open and use it. :D

Tis the Season! Really nice guy!

Great little knife and the Idaho stamp is icing on the cake. I like your lanyard too, great idea.

Enjoy!

Good on Ed, and good for you. Glad you got one in your pocket that means something to you. Thanks for sharing your story, Merry Christmas :thumbsup:

You’re right BP_ BP_ , it’s nice to have one that means something. I’ve got a lot of knives. But only a few(this one included) actually have sentimental value.

Thanks BuckShack BuckShack ! I don’t normally use a lanyard. But i like it on this little lady:thumbsup:

And thank you as well S sportingspecialist ! Merry Christmas guys and gals!!

What a great thoughtful gift.

I carried mine for years when I got it as a teenager but don't much anymore these days, I kind of find that the cutouts ruin it's simple looks and stopped carrying it when I got a 283.

It's still a great knife though and I'm glad Buck breathed new life into it's blade this year when they released the classy little 524 alumni.

The lanyard/fob is a good idea, makes these the perfect little watch pocket knife.
I dont like to kill the usefulness of a perfectly good little knife or multitool by hanging it from a bunch of keys.

I too think it’s a perfect watch pocket knife. The lanyard hangs out, ready for a quick pull.

I do carry a large knife as well, but only for the bigger chores. This 425 is going to pair nicely with my 293.

If I may.. Get a lighter and melt the frayed end of your kool lanyard..;) Go slow.. And keep a wet rag handy to cool it off once you are done melting..
