Unexpected CQC-7 Blade Play

A few days ago I received my CQC-7AW and have been enjoying it an an edc. Solid lock-up, razor sharp, perfectly centered blade and a classic look. I haven't put it to hard use (yet) and, other than slicing, I have cut one plastic zip tie. The issue is that after a couple of days, the knife has developed some side-to-side blade play --very slight but it is present when I apply minimal hand pressure. I've used other folders for light prying (yes, I know NOT to do that) and I've never had blade play occur. Again, I've not used the 7 in a hard-use context yet.

Since blade play is a pet peeve of mine, my question is: in order to remedy the blade play, what home-tinkering do you recommend? I don't want to void the warranty and I'm trying to avoid sending it to EKI for treatment. I've thought about tightening the pivot screw but I'm concerned about making the blade more difficult to deploy or making it off-center.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Did you make sure the pivot didn't back off? My 15 just loosened up out of no where after weeks of use and carry. A little blue lock tight and it has been good to go.

I pull the pivot screw out, put a snall drop of blue loctite on it and tighten just until the blade play is gone. Its alway been a good spot for smoothness once its broken in. But get it where you like it, then let the loctite dry a few minutes without messin with the knife and you should be good to go.

I own 3 Emerson knives and the pivots on all of them tend to loosen a bit.
I have blue loctite but prefer not to use it.
I always have a multi tool handy and just snug it back up.

Thanks for the help! I don't have loctite yet but I turned the pivot screw almost a quarter turn and it solved the problem!

After using loctite, will I still be able to disassemble the knife?

Yes, so long as you use blue.

You can use some Teflon tape too.
Just wrap a small piece around the pivot screw threads.

DO NOT USE RED LOCTITE. Make sure you use BLUE. I use less than a drop on the threads, no more than that is really needed.
