Now folks Jonathan neglects to add that his own generosity and friendship far surpasses this small gesture. He truly is a great asset to this forum and his contributions here are invaluable. Very nice gift. Those bolsters are a style used occasionally by some of the old Sheffield makers on Congress patterns. Most I have seen are from before 1900.
 
Gorgeous knife! But the question remains... Is it better to give or to receive? Hahaha - I say BOTH!! Congrats to both of you!!
