Hi guys,
yesterday I was at my parent's place and I was taking a look at my father's knives collection (some day they'll be mine but for now I just enjoy seeing them), and this little knife came out of the drawer into my hands.

The funny thing is, no one in my family has any idea of where this knife comes from nor when it got into that drawer. My dad claimed he had actually never seen it (I know he did, but he just didn't remember about it), so now it's mine. I made some research about it: the knife was made in Maniago by a company named Falcon Knives (run by a family named Campolin). It's a relatively small lockback (8cm closed, 14cm open), the shape of the blade is (I guess) what you would call a "Lanny's clip" (and if it's not, please correct me), steel should be 440, wooden handles. It does need some cleaning, some sharpening (even tho I have no doubt that this knife never cut anything in its life), maybe some oil and usage (the lock is a bit hard to disengage). It is on the heavy side for its size, it does feel solid, the opening is pretty smooth, locks firmly, fels nice. Sure it has been a nice surprise. I wanted to share it with you.

Nice knife, Fausto. Reminds me of some of the Buck line with similar attributes. Should be a nice addition to your collection.

Hi,

That is a nice looking little lockback. The straight nick looks very nice on the blade and the swedge. And the scales look to have a pleasing grain to them also. All wrapped up in a well made looking package. What's not to like!

Great knife Fausto!, As Blues said, very much like the Buck, and to be Honest I like the heavy feel of those knives, the slanted Bolsters look pretty cool with the wood too.
I would call that a nice unexpected guest :)

I like it very Buck esque but with a bit of German flare it kinda reminds me of those older Puma lockbacks.

Unexpected treasures are always fun. Enjoy!

Thank you guys :)
I'm willing to find out the story about this knife. My dad received many as gifts due to his job, but for some reason this one flew way under the radar...so far.
Meanwhile, I will give this little gentleman some time in my pocket, and see what happens. I'm no knife collector, and in my "planned setup" of 5 knives to keep, this one should be "sacrificed", but who knows? maybe it will make me change my mind, at least for a while. The only bad thing is that I will need to rebevl it completely (at least on one side), and at my actual skill level that will take some time, but again, I'm in no hurry.
What I like in this knife is the overall shape/size. And I like the way it made its own path to my hands...everything happens for a reason
