While in Indiana this weekend, I am helping set up for my dads wedding, and I bent down to get something, and for some reason, the pocket clip literally shot off my wave, about 30 foot actually. When I went too get it and put it back on, it was bent beyond all belief. I tried to straighten it and SNAP!! It broke right in half. I am gonna contact leatherman to see if there is anything they can do, since I only had it for 3 weeks, or see if I have to buy a new one. It looks like until than, I am gonna be doing sheath carry for it, since it is all I have to carry it. I hope they will replace it though

I really would not worry, Leatherman will for sure replace the clip or the entire tool, good Company that stands behind their products.

Let us know how you get on.

Leatherman will definitely stand by their product/s, so don't worry about that. But man, am I becoming less and less a fan of pocket clips in general. :grumpy:

I used to be a huge fan, but I have completely abandoned pocket clips. They get hooked on things, tear things up, steal the knife out of the pocket, tear up the edge of the pocket, and besides all that, get scratched up, and bent, and broken. I'd rather have the knife or tool on the belt or in the pocket or in a neck sheath.

Depends entirely on the pocket clip and to what it is attached. Some have worked great for me, others a PIA. So far, with fewer than 6 months experience of either, both a Leatherman Charge and Surge have been wonderful with pocket clip carry. They ride low in the pocket, position perfectly, never snag on anything, and haven't scratched furniture or automobile yet. Either I am living in a fool's paradise, or another shoe is about to drop.:D

I have a feeling pouches are coming back in style. That's my two cents (and nothing against this clip, or clips on knives in general).

i carried my wave in the horizontal position today with my spare sheath. It wasn't bad at all, but I do wish that LM would make their sheaths better. Maybe a combination nylon sheath with a button snap instead of velcro. The velcro seems to wear out to easily. Also a LM CS rep contacted me and said they are sending me a new clip.
