Unfortunate grind bk9

I just noticed that my bk 9 has a terribly uneven grind the last inch or two near the tip.
It is barely ground on one side which makes it like a chisel grind near the tip and warps the edge.

I got it from tomars and had asked them to qc check it before sending but honestly i didn’t even notice until i went to sharpen it

Unfortunately, this isn’t uncommon with factory blades esp. at the price points we are talking. As the price goes up or if it comes from a small shop/custom, I would expect it to be correctly done prior to shipment.

I haven’t seen something this bad from kabar before. It reminds me of a few bad ontarios i received.
Any company can have stuff slip through though.

I’d rather have one I can fix than one with a burnt tip.

I really don’t expect much from factory edges, as long as I have something to work with I can make it better.
