I just bought some of these this week. The were approximately $7.50 for a 3 pack and the refills are approximately $3.00 for a 2 pack. They use pressurized gas cartridges comparable to those used in Fisher Space Pens. They also write extremely well. Just thought I'd share my $.02.
 
I've got the capped model. Not sure if that has been fazed out or not. Writes very well, as you said. I am not fond of the cap on the model I have and don't particularly like the narrow clickie. Just minor criticism.

I still carry my Fisher but I like the powertank for situations where I might lose the pen (camping comes to mind).

So, I recommend them too.
 
It's about 1/3 the size of a 'normal' cap, meaning it is less than an inch long excluding the clip. Feels cheap and likely to fall off. IMO, it would be much better if it covered the whole rubber finger pad.
