I came across an axe-head which, to say the least, is in POOR POOR POOR shape, but the ID of the manufacturer intrigues me. It appears to be a fairly large double channel ring between the cheek and the poll. It also appears to have a CH.... inside the inner ring on the lower right.
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. Thanks

Sorry man there's not enough there for me to even have a guess. Someone who has that etch may recognize those few letters there but even that is a longshot.
I feel your pain though believe me... I've got some where if it had just a teeeeensy bit more I could tell who made it. It's just a frustrating part of life now! Good luck man!

Just a crazy idea that used to crank on wrenches in a previous life. Has anyone ever tried Magnaflux? I realize it very useful for finding cracks and I have never tried it for surface irregularities. Might be worth a try to see what happens.
