Saw the Unigrinder at http://www.unigrinder.com/ and would sure like some comments about the machine plans. Do any of you folks know anyone that has built this? Thinking about making this but would like to hear some feedback first. I am rank newcomer and was thinking about the Grizzly till I saw this machine. Thanks

Welcome to BFC Bill! This site is divided into different areas to maximize the chances of folks finding the information they want. In this case, your question is most likely to be answered by the knife makers who hang out in the here in theShop Talk forum

I am moving your thread there. Follow the link above to your thread.

Again, welcome!

Welcome, Bill! You'll like it around here.

That's the first I've seen of that machine, but it sure looks like it'd work like a charm. I liked the way the angle of the platen looked adjustable. Take their word for it to get a powerful motor and variable speed!

Welcome and good fortune in your knife making!

Wow Bill, thanks for posting that link! That looks like the best designed belt grinder I've ever seen.

Take care!! Michael

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Tenino, WA ??? Hmm. You know what they say about those guys from Tenino... Okay, the two guys I know from there are great, so that must be it.

I don't personally know anything about this grinder, but if you ever want to take the 45 minute drive down to the thriving metropolis of Winlock and talk knives or learn or whatever, just let me know. My shop is always welcome to knifemakers wanting to share or learn.

Let me know,
Nick
