I recently picked up a copy of the, "Gun Digest Book of Folding Knives," and it had a really cool article about Kabar and The Union Cutlery Company. I tried to take a picture that would be clear enough to read if you zoom in on your screens (sorry it came out a little blurry). Also pictured is one of my favorite little knives, the Kabar 1200. I think it was made between the 60's and 70's. I can shave my face with this one.
 The sheath was dipped in wax; normally they are not as dark.
On the next page or two there was also a picture of a guy standing over up-turned concrete, and in the dirt, there was a whole plethora of antique knives. Apparently they threw their seconds in a big pile behind the factory. I guess they were in decent shape, having been covered beneath the concrete (mostly old slip-joints). Can you imagine finding that!!!
Thanks for reading! I know some of you guys will dig it!
PS- Let me know if you would like me to take photos of the other pages (there are a couple more), and maybe get a closer picture of the words. It is taking me a while to upload photos, but I could have them up by tomorrow night.
PPS- If you Kabar executives are watching this, please make some T-shirts of a fur trapper holding a knife up against that wounded bear. I'd probably buy three.
