Unique Buck Knife at Internet Auction

I just bought the 'off the shelf' version, but the one without the gut hook. I had intended to use the knife as a 'knock about' camp knife on near future camp outs. I got a deal on it, I figured I could give it away if I didn't like it, and truth be told, I didn't have much respect for the knife. In fact, the bevel was crooked.

I gave it a super going over on the Edge Pro, and the thing is like a razor on tomatoes. It's going to be a great camp food preparation knife. Admittedly, I didn't think I'd be much of a fan of this 420HC steel, but it seems to be holding up rather well. Before we leave for this 'gentlemen's camp,' I intend to just give it a light polishing.

It feels like an ergonomic bar of smooth soap in the hand. I misjudged the knife.

The bad part for me is that I know what you mean about the soap.:D  :p

Alphamaniv,

Ha, ha, no 'chicken choker' jokes here despite the fact I probably should have chosen my words more carefully!

I'm a gun guy. When a custom gun is ordered, we often tell the gunsmith we want it 'melted.' Some guys call it 'dehorned.' You can run your hand all over the piece and it feels like smooth metal. It's a joy to handle.

The knife handle on the Alpha Hunter feels like it was made for me, personally. Somebody at Buck had a great idea for the grips.
