I just purchased a unique graphic (one of a kind) Sebenza off New Graham. Do you guys with these unique graphic ones use them or just collect them? This isn't the computer generated one. Are these truly one of a kind? With this appreciate in value over time? Here's the link to the one I just ordered. http://newgraham.com/store/product/6562/Lg-Sebenza-21-Unique/ BTW, this is my first Sebenza and I'm very excited to join the CRK family.

if you only have one it would be a shame not to use it. it's not likely to appreciate that much anytime in the near futurel; a lot of unused unique graphic designs sell for less than their original cost. the only reason not to use it would be a personal one, so unless you're particularly attached to the knife in its unused state, go ahead and carry it.

Reeper22,

First of all, let me congratulate you on a fantastic entry into CRK ownership! That UG is gorgeous. I especially like it because it is of the new style that Lisa's started doing in the last couple of years with hue patterning within a given cut. Very nice.

They are indeed one-of-a-kind, custom jobs. Others can request to have her do a design that's similar, but it is as if you asked a painter to duplicate a work of art previously created -- it will not be the same as the original. I don't know how Lisa continues to come up with these UG ideas, but she's taken hand-operated milling, annodized graphics to a whole new level. We are lucky to have her in the knife industry, and on top of that, to have her creating her masterpieces at IMHO, the finest knife company on the planet.

Re: the question of appreciation, like most custom pieces, the value is in the eye of the beholder. Lisa's work is becoming increasingly well known in the industry. I've seen some really striking pieces go for higher than retail, and I tend to believe that the appreciation will in the long run be in the positive direction, especially after her work is no longer available from the factory. Let's hope that her career at CRK lasts for a long, long time.

And BTW, I've been a UG EDC'er for over a decade.

Have a great time with your new Sebbie!

Thanks for the replies. When I called New Graham to make sure it was a one of a kind graphic, they called CR to check and I think they said Ann Reeve did the design. They may have been mistaken. Does anyone know Ann's role in the production of these?

i carry and use my ug.

i had a "p" ug that i didn't ever carry or use, mainly because it didn't have a clip. it has since been traded for a ug that i will carry and use.

Remember that all Unique Graphics are one-of-a-kind and, although a similar design can be ordered, they are all individually created and are different.
I also remember reading that they can be refurbished, but the colors might not come out exactly the same as before.
