I need some help. As a kid I had a knife and cannot find it, or where I might find a company who makes it. Let me describe it: it is a single blade, nondescript handle, and about 2" to 2 1/4" closed. There is no thumb nail slit in it for opening and that is part of what makes it unique.
It has a slight spring pressure used when opening. To open it, one must hold it vertically with the tip of the blade pointing upward. Then by pressing the blade inward toward the handle, a shim like device rolls downward with gravity and allows it to unlock and open. Then it is manually pulled open the rest of the way.
To close, reverse the positioning by placing the tip pointing downward. Press inward and the shim now rolls downward with gravity and locks it closed.
