I cant seem to find any knives that I can justify buying, I have gotten tired of most of my knives being the usual black g10. Are there any knives (by reputable makers) that break from the norm? By the way, I do not care for wooden handles.

Spyderco Sage 3 with Blue G-10 and Bolt Action Lock?
Spyderco Chokwe? It has a black G-10 scale, a ti frame lock, but it's pretty unique.
Spyderco Leafstorm
Spyderco Dodo
Spyderco Rock Lobster
Spyderco Zulu

A lot of Spydercos are pretty unique. But those are a few that come to mind.

If black G-10 is your only issue then you can look for Spyderco sprint runs with Carbon Fiber scales or different colors of G10. They make Paramilitary and Military sprints that are relatively expensive, Tenacious sprints that are low priced, and various FRN knives in different colors. Kershaw makes their knives with various colors of G10 and anodized aluminum. Benchmade has a program where you can order a griptilian or mini-griptilian with different color scales.

I take it you mean that you are tired of "tactical" one-handed opening, locking folders having G10 handles? If you don't mean that, then take a look at slipjoints.

Zero tolerance 560/1 and get a custom scale made.

Digicam para2.

I gave my other folding knives as the above 2 are all I need. You might want to add a budget for more narrowed suggestions.

Keep the suggestions flowing!

This is ridiculous. You want suggestions for knives yet you have not given one indicator of how you want to carry it or what you want to use it on. Production or custom and price range would be useful if you were serious.

I don't understand how people will throw recommendations when they do not know your carry and use preferences.

All my criteria was that it just had to be out of the usual trend of the mostly black "tactical knives." This isn't just for me, it's a thread that everyone can share their ideas on what they think is a unique knife.

I'm on the same boat of wanting to stray away from the traditional "black scales". That's why I chose the zt0561 over the 0560. If you can find one I'd highly recommend it, not tacticool looking at all.

He says he's tired of G10, which would imply some boredom with tactical folders as a concept, but goes on to say he doesn't like wood handles either.

So unless he'd be interested in looking at some Case bone or GEC stag, I've got nothing.

Exactly. What type of knife? More info can lead to great things! Big or small? Middle eastern or American? Steel preferences? What are you going to use it for? All of these are typically specific to a knife maker thus important to know.

I think the disconnect here is that black, G10 tactical knives are not "the norm" and knives that are not-black-G10-tactical knives aren't really "unique."

You really just got to look around a little more. Go to any one of the sites of online knife retailers who support BladeForums. Look around. You wont be able to swing a dead cat without hitting one of these "unique" not-black-G10-tactical knives for sale there.

So you're just basically trolling then?

If you are, and don't have any real request or personal intent, I suggest that you visit the sub-forum Whine & Cheese. That sub is the place to hang out.
