I wanted to share this charming old Mora I picked up. I don't know how old it is, 1960's, -70's maybe?. The fish head carved handle and the fish body sheath unite to make
a trout theme. The sheath has popped a few stitches and the blade was rusted from spending alot in the sheath, but there was no use ever according to the original owner. It just sat forgotten with the fishing gear for years in storage. I managed to clean up the blade sufficiently with some Flitz and elbow grease.
This one most likely won't get any use but will make a nice conversation piece on my bookshelves.

No bad for $25. :D

What a very cool knife!..Moras are the epitome of form and function in my opinion and i use my one regularly.Good script too..... FES

I've seen these before, but only in a museum picture or something.

It's such a smart find, and great bargain!
You should repair that sheath.

I need to find a snippet a Swedish knife maker once sent me about the classic shape of knife handles.....

I love the trout theme. That knife would surely make it onto my belt when trout fishing. Excellent find.

Ah ha...sorry, not Swedish, Norwegian.

"An old Norwegian saying states that a good handle for a knife should have the same shape as "a fat mountain trout" in order to feel good in the hand, and to be used with all kinds of grips"
