Very strange!! it looks like it had a latch, but then the blade was replaced 1/2 too long.
But the Kydex sheath looks like it fits perfect.
Very nice find. Just wondering what the price for a neat little item like this is going for....?

I have a picture of a balisong with a tanto blade, but when closed the blade sticks out of the handles a couple inches. The bali with a tanto blade does have a latch though, this one doesn't look like it does (it could).

Yes, this is the original blade. Fred had handles already made when he got the idea to do the longer blade with Kydex sheath (it's designed to be worn as a neck knife), and yes this design is latchless. I prefer a latch, but what the heck, it's not every day that you get a chance to buy a Perrin. As soon as I take possession of this Perrin Bali I'll take some pix of it with my BM42 for comparison. Thanks for your comments, guys.

From talking to Perrin and Szabo the pair of madmen REALLY like the "extended" balisong configuation.. cause you got a knife ready at all times whether the bali is open and closed.. you see Szabo's passion with it in his RAD folder as well.. this is a nice knife from a master designer.. I dind't have the cash when t was offered to me
