Just won the above mentioned knife off evilbay. .250" thick about 12.5" long with a stag handle that is split. Still together mind you but has a split running down the handle length wise. First off does anyone know about this company? Secondly would super glue fix the split? The stag looks gorgeous. Does not say rosftrei anywhere on the knife so I am assuming it is a carbon steel. Thanks for any info and keepem sharp

it sound slike one of the old imports made for an american company. Solingen based cutleries have been doing this since the late 1800's (till even now).

Epoxy will work to repair the handle. Super glue works on small hairline cracks, but for spilts use the duro two-ton waterproof epoxy (wal-mart, maybe $2.00?).

I rec. this knife today. Much nicer than I originally thought. Just tiny splits in the stag. Fixed them with instant bond. Will sand a bit and be done with it. This is a carbon steel heavy duty knife for sure. Cut an orange with it and stained the blade but that is cool as it will be a user anyways. This is a Unsco knife and not Unisco as I originally wrote. All in all for 60 bucks you could do a helluva lot worse. Kind of reminds me of a Marbles hunter on steroids. It is a heavy in the hand sucker too. Good bargain if you ask me. keepem sharp

PS it sharpens just like carbon steel should, a nice bite and razor sharp!
