united cutlery-black ronin-full tang sword

Does anyone have an opinion on the united cutlery black ronin sword, uc1184. A friend of mine says its great for cutting brush. I've seen one in the store, but have not had a chance to field test one.

Welllll (and I'm not trying to be a jerk here) my suggestion would be that if you want to cut brush get an 8.00 machete at Walmart or better yet a brush ax. If you want a sword skip that thing.

 

United sucks. Don't waste your money.

How much are you willing to spend, and what features are you looking for? I am sure we can help you find some good choices.

Skip It!!! 420J2 stanless steel blade. Too soft and will not hold an edge. Twice the price but real sword, 1095 carbon steel, are the Swords of blackwind" by Ontario Knife Company. I have their katana and I like it very much. Also have that POS(peice of s___) from United Cutlery. 3times the price of UC is the similar swords from Mineral Mountain Hatchetworks, 5150 spring steel, Don't own but haveread good reviews. They look pretty decent to me. Maybe next purchase.

Thanks for all the input. I checked on the katana from Ontario Knife and it looks like the ticket. I would rather spend some more money and get quality.
