Check this thing out! Should be out in early 2014... I'm buying one :)

I guess it is enough 21st century for someone to really, really need it. However, there have been a number of similar machete gladius so I guess it depends on individual taste. Be the first on the block and all that :)

Cheers

I was with you until I saw United Cutlery. Meh. Although, I've got a shortish one I'm reworking that has a similar blade shape. I also don't like the spike thingy on the pommel.

LOL i was actually thinking about grinding that off when i got it.

From what i hear, these are going to be thicker than the CS machete line. UC has actually done pretty well with some of their newer stuff. I have one of their m48 hawks, and it's actually shockingly great

still waiting to find out. Called them and the guy who would know is out for the day. Heather says she'll email me tomorrow but "thinks" it's 3/16

Carbon steel and 3/16...... A decent price point could make this a real winner. Just like everybody did a tactical tomahawk it now seems it is time for the tactical sword! I couldn't be more happy.

turns out the thickness isn't determined yet. They go into production in Jan and they're working out the final details now. Apparently the thickness is one of those details. As long as it's 1/8 or more, i'm in, but i'm not interested in anything thinner.

Grind that tit off, bead blast it down and blue the blade... works for me.

I just see something that doesn't know what it wants to be. If it were a tool then the anti-rust coating and the synthetic handle would make sense. If it were a sword then it would just be aesthetically dull and lifeless, something punched out in a factory and dressed up so it can be called "tactical". Big stick, no love.
It may be great in terms of quality, but if it looks like one of those cheap toys people pick up on budk, it'll drive more people away.

But what if you get trapped in a car and there's zombies outside and you need to break out the window and kill them. Then who'll have the tool he needs to save himself? Not me, but I'm sure someone will.

The Busse was too thick? How thick?
Even a thick blade can be made razor sharp.
