I "aquired" a United M48. This was had BEFORE I knew about knives and quality. It has a ABS plastic sheath. ABS plastic handles. Full tang. Impressive "Stainless Steel"
It started of with impressive results. It was plowing through 2x4's and logs like it was heat treated 1095.... then I got aggressive

This knive bent very easily. I understand it is a sub $30 knife, but is is nearly as thick as my BK2! I don't have a calipur, but looks close. I expected a little more out of this knife after watching Youtube videos of the M48. I am so glad I have seen the light!!
I do like the shape of the blade--minus the "gut hook". The fat grip was nice. Evrything else....well... you decide.
