Universal fixed blade sheaths?

I'm looking for universal sheath options for smaller semi-custom fixed blades.
I have tried the spec ops sheaths (which are great) but are a little too big for what I need. The knives in question have blade lengths of about 3-4". My 1st thought was to send them out and have custom sheaths made but I cant seem to part with them long enough to do so, any ideas?!
 
You are particular enough to not want to send your knives out for a perfect fit.........but willing to accept a sloppy fit from a generic sheath??????? Somehow that just doesn't compute. I suppose you do realize that your knife or knives would only be out of your hands for about a week (when dealing with me). I also suppose you realize that when you go custom it will cost you some meaningful bucks.

Check around here the turn around times might surprise you.

The Chinese make some excellent sheaths that suit your purposes...and reqirements :o
 
One of the knives I was looking for a generic sheath for gets used, but doesn't get carried (if that makes any sense) so the fit doesn't have to be perfect. I use it for small whittling projects while sitting around a fire in the backyard so I could actually make do without a sheath, but wouldn't mind getting one if the price is right.
I've yet to talk to anyone that gave me a estimated week-ish turn-around time for a custom sheath but if that's the case I may just have to look you up when I'm ready for my next one sheathmaker!

I've worked with several of the sheath makers here, both plastic and dead animal types... for me to get an estimate usually there is a lot of back and forth, pictures sent, some blah blah here and blub blub there, but I always get an estimate, or guestimate... Normally I get "for knives of this size and the type of sheath you want, prices start at <fill-in-the-blank>.

Most of the guys here are easy to work with, but busy as hell so if you "get lost in the shuffle" don't be offended, it happens...

I'm not sure about the week turn around thing... that might be asking a lot. Ask around there may be someone near you that can do it... I'm not that lucky...

Speaking of being side tracked I got one that needs to be sent out for a new sheath lol thanks for reminding me!
