Dear Sirs,

does anybody know this knife?

What do you think is its value?

Many thanks for an answer, and

best Regards,

Haebbie

wow a lot!!!
have never seen one for sale!!!!!
my guess is at least a min of 10 peasos!
maby even 400 gilders or more...;)

Thanks, Dave for your opinion. The seller wants to get 1500 Euro, that's appx: 2 000 Bucks. I think it's too much. But nice knife with the genuine scrimshaw

Best,
Haebbie

P.S.: Dave, other Question: what would you pay for a 110 with a white corian Handle made by Buck?

I can just see the look on my wifes face if she found out I spent $2K on a knife

Knifeschmied, my wife would say: " you've to know what you do" while leaving the room - nothing else. But the vibes - Be careful with that axe Carina!

I'd probably get a $2K knife in the ribs. After my funeral she would have a big yard sale to get rid of all my knives, guns, tools, etc ;)

Does anybody know this knife???? Yes haebbie I know it it's #36 and was stolen from me.....Who has it!!!! I want it back!!!! :p :D ;) Just kidding.....That is a sweet knife and you should get it. I think Joe Houser needs to answer your question on this one. I did see the same knife in the book "The story of Buck Kives" but, it has an eagal on the handle and it said the handle material was Mastadon!!!! 2k is a lot of cabage.....however, an older custom shop knife with Mastadon.....;) . Looks to be one of the Custom skinners from the Buck Custom Shop...Looks to be a 925 skinner....but, they all look the same to me in photos.

Haebbie, the knife should come with the original display case, leather thong with ivory arrowhead attached and a letter of authenticity from the old Buck Custom Shop. The handles are scrimshawed on prehistoric Mastodon ivory by Dale Fish. The knife is a Heavy Skinner, Model 925I. A sheath was available as an option. There were very few made, hard to put a price on an old Custom. I recently saw 2 of the smaller version skinners sell for $700 a piece

I checked the computer and it says we only sold about 60 of the 925I heavy "Indian" Skinner. They did come with the leather thong and arrowhead as mentioned above.
You know, I read this from a flyer and it does say the scrimshander is Dale FISH but I am pretty sure that is a typo and his name is Dale Fisk.
I have to say that $2k seems pretty high to me. The suggested list at the time was about $1400 but they most likely sold for much less than that.

Thanks Joe! I thought it was 'Fisk', should've known it was a typo
