Photos Unknown knife markings

I have a 10" WWII combat knife that was in my FIL workshop. It has some unusual markings but I can't tell if it is Arabic or something else. I don't believe it is Japanese.
I can't figure out how to apply a picture but it is like a cursive njny but not American. It looks rough but is sharp as hell... I would love to find out more about it.

Whatever kind of device you have? There may be an app for that. Look for a picture/file sharing host. Prefreably one that is NOT porn related. You can use imgur.com, flickr, or any others. There are tutorials online on the "How To" part, search for it. In the mean time, searching here for...
