I got this knife at a estate sale in the 80's in Wisconsin. Anyone have any information on the knife.

No stamp or roll marks, just a name on the blade.

Theater knife- amateur knives made or modified in or for a theater of war either by the troops, their families and friends, or other non-professional supporters (including some high school shop classes during WW2).

This one may have been a rehandled Q225 or similar knife. The name on the knife is usually the owners.

Neat old knife. Best bet would be to try to research the name in Wisconsin. If you can connect the name with ww2 it would add to its value. Plus a local museum may want it.

Interesting (to me at least) how he uses capital E in the middle of words especially unusual in cursive.

At first I saw Trubner. Now I realize it’s an e not an r. Teubner

Such a nice solid engraving too. Doesn’t look at all like a vibratory pencil.

Really cool, I like WW II theater knives. There is a really great book by Bill & Debbie Wright about the subject. Great photos and one of a kind knives.

I'd bet the name was done by acid etch. You cover the blade in wax and then scribe away where you want the acid to eat into the steel. This was pretty common in the late 60's-70's. It wasn't done with hand chisel or electric pen, and it wasn't stamped either.
