I picked this up on ebay for $15 ($30 shipped) - well worth it IMO. It's a neat one. I think I see Sverige (Sweden) marked on one side. And maybe viking? on the other. I was able to drill out the small tiny wooden wedge. Unhang it and rehang it on the same handle. This give me great pleasure these days. I saved a master mechanic handle (from the 80s with the tag still on it) in a similar fashion. I used to just cut them off but realize now that's a waste. If you can save it, why not.

This one is strange as it looks as if it has a high (or high'ish) centerline. The paint reminds me of Akriva (sp?) or similar old swedish painted axes.

Original handle was 18 1'2". I lost about a 1/2" in rehanging it lower on the handle. Got some nice wedge in there.

Thanks for looking.

Cool to find a vintage Swedish piece. I assume you've taken a file to it. How's the steel?

Thats a nice clean one. Used is a bargain, even off the net. I don't know how long that will be, this might be the good old days.
