I recently inherited a Cold Steel Trail Master that apperantly was keeper in Storage for maybe 20 years? I can't seem to find one that as all the marks, style and guard. I see several pics on this site but none of the pics are a exact match. Looking for help.

A picture is going to go a lot further in getting you answers than your description.
From a site newbie to a site newbie: welcome.

I figured as much and even have the pics, just can't figure out how to attaché? I'm using my IPad, any thoughts?

I'm done buddy, thanks for the help but I don't get it. This site is not so user friendly for the old... I'm out! Have a good night.

Posting a pic here is easy but does require a small amount of work. This should help

This is the only one that I have seen that has Leather sheath, Stanless blade guard and the cut at the bottom of the blade. That's why I was confused about which it was?

wagonburner1,
Your knife is not a Sanmai but a first edition Stainless Steel Trailmaster made in Seki Japan in solid Aus6. It has the markings on the ricasso.
The second edition solid Stainless Japanese Trailmaster that followed had the markings on the blade like the Sanmai models that followed even later.
You can find information on the Japan made Trailmasters at http://hattoricollector.com on the Big Bowies page.
Regards
Ken

The Sanmai has a "silver" colored guard. Not sure what it is made of. The sheath and sharpening choil, I'm not sure about. Could be a fake but looks legit to me.

Do you have any idea how old or its value? It appears to have never cut or chopped anything. It still has a super edge with out a single mark, except for my finger prints. Need to wipe it down.

I also have a pocket knife by the name brand Bull Dog, I have had the same issue as far as finding one just like it. Is there a different place to post about this?

Your Trailmaster 16JS was made 1990-1992. This is on the site I suggested you read. Your exact knife is on there.
You need at least gold membership on this forum to enquire about values.

Thank you again Kenhash. I wasn't aware of the gold status requirements. Do you have to be Gold to sell here too?
Thanks for everything.

You're very welcome. Yes you need at least Gold Membership Status to sell here on the Exchange.

Yeah, the moderators get upset if anyone inquires about values, unless they have the gold membership. Except for the San Mai III stainless, which is supposed to be super tough, I usually don't like large stainless bowies. But that AUS 6 trailmaster is a beauty! Congratulations, looks like a keeper! Pass it down to your son one day.

I remember those went for close to two bills back in the day of slicing free-hanging rope, stabbing car doors and hoods, and making spare ribs!
