I found a fixed blade knife stuck in a piling offshore a few years back and haven't been able to identify it. The only marks are WILDES and 181. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect it was 59 knives later than this one:

I can't seem to find anything else. Likely a local custom maker who sold in a nearby shop. There's tons of them that just disappear over time.

Unless they're commercially successful or win an award of some sort it can be difficult, if not impossible to locate any information about them.

Wow , thanks for the reply. That's the first one I've seen and I really like it. Mine is shorter from the looks of that one.
