Since The Missus is still in the Hospital: I took Big Tiny and Godzilla out to play today. I have about 5 big pine trees in the back yard, and they are always dropping branches down in our way.
Big Tiny up to bat first
At 2 pounds: he was easy to swing, and cut 11/2" branches with ease.
Then with a "purposeful grimace and a terrible sound": I unleashed Godzilla...
This beast is a rwo-fisted cutting machine! Big Tiny could be swung with one hand:not this monster! I cut through a 2" branch on a one-handed swing, and I had to let it go. It cut through so fast that I feared for a leg or three of my own! So it ended up down in the creekbed..creek bed...
The rocks didn't seem to bother it very much: so I cut with it for another 20 minutes.
My feelings: Big Tiny feels and chops like a nice knife.
Godzilla feels exactly like an axe!
Both are WAY cool to work with! 👍

I love it when you post those beasts.

What is the thickness and steel on the Bowie'esque model? Is that something that David would build again, or was that a 1-of-1 for you?

It's 8670: about .21" thick.
Ask him about building one for you. I'd personally feel flattered... 😁👍
Suretouch grips...

Thank you.

8670, one of my favorites. 😍

It's really quite extraordinary...and I bet one helluva' conversation piece. 👍

Thanks! I was cutting branches... stuff in the 1" to 3" range. No problem turning them into ex-branches!
We're not sure about The Missus just yet; but we're hopeful...

Thoughts, prayers and best wishes headed your way Bob.

(And you know how I feel about those knives. :) )
David can always build more of them... 😁
I'll clean them up tomorrow after work. She's in surgery, and is going to call once she gets back to her bed...
(No need for me to sit around...)

So what you're saying is David needs to create, and then release, the Kraken!
