'Golden Girl' Creates Airport Drama
Bea Arthur sparked security trauma when trying to catch a flight at Boston's Logan international Airport. She had a pocketknife in her handbag. When detected by airport security, Ms. Arthur went into her comedic character by barking that it wasn't hers and "the terrorists put it there." She also blamed the key ring that she tossed at the agent as from "terrorists." A witness described the funnywoman as "a real character." And you thought she was out to pasture!

I wouldn't try that particular comedy routine myself. They'd probably take me seriously and want to run a background check.
 
The fact that an eighty year old actress was carrying a pocketknife is further proof that a pocketknife is a common tool, not a weapon.
 
I read that earlier and I was wondering what she was carrying, probably a slipjoint or a CCC...now I know I'm not the only one who reads that Netscape/AIM news :o :D

I was thinking the same thing; I mean, if a regular Joe caused a scene like that they'd be wearing some silver bracelets and getting in some serious trouble :eek:
 
Regardless of the fact that she is a celebrity, it was still a strong statement.
But then again, rules is rules, and she broke one. :rolleyes:

They're all hooting at how funny the incident was, while we rush over there to find out which model knife it is! Then again, the Beatrice Arthur forum is only slightly cooler :p
 
I just watched "History of the World, Part 1" and she always cracks me up.
I've always liked her 'tude!
 
Who'd have known that Bea Arthur is a dangerous woman who carries a dangerous pocket knife...:D.
