"Unlimited Limited" - What exactly does that mean?

Do they make huge runs of limited editions? Do they appreciate more or less over time? Thanks for your insight.

My North Fork is called a "First Production", and is number 179 of 250. Will they manufacture the exact same knife after 250? I'm sure they will, but sans numbering on the blade.
Even though the numbers on the knife may indicate some collectible status, I carry mine in my pocket as an EDC knife. (I bought mine for use)
As far as the term Limited vs First Production goes, I am curious about the answers we may get on that subject too.

I believe it means that BM makes an unlimited number of a certain knife in a limited time frame.

That or it means that BM is going to over-charge for that certain knife even more.

Wolverine is correct.
In a video they mentioned it means they will continue making it for that year and then stop.

The First Production run is not a limited edition since it is otherwise the same knife as the regular run. Further evidence if this is that these knives do not come in a Limited Edition labeled box. Also, the FP run does not have a different model number designation.

"Unlimited Limited" are usually dealer exclusives, are different from the regular production version, and may come in a LE box (not sure if all do or not). However, these are not labeled as LE or have a numbered inscription on the blade. They do have a different model number designation. Current examples that come to mind are the REI Griptilian with S30V green/black G10 scales and the KnifeWorks Contego with M390 and blue/black G10 scales.

True Limited Editions are different from the regular production knife, have a defined number produced, and have a blade inscribed with Limited Edition and the number of that knife. These also have a different model designation.

Another good example is the 755 Gold glass with dual action. That is a Unlimited Limited. Not a dealer exclusive yet not limited edition. Just limited time frame in production with no promise of numbers produced.
