Unlocking a lanyard lock

I took in a knife today that came with a lanyard attached. The lanyard ends are locked with one of those cheap little plastic locks we've all probably seen before (pic attached).

I'd like to remove the lanyard without cutting it, but I'm stumped. The lock seems to have a lid but trying to pry every place I see an opening hasn't budged it.

Does anyone know the trick? Or is this a one-time lock it and live with it deal?

Thanks for any help.

Andrew

I had to use a screw driver to pry open one of those style lanyards..Look carefully on the cord side, one side of that or the other will pry open. You have the see which side is most likely hinged and then go at it with a screw driver. Careful the screw driver doesn't slip and gouge your hand.
